About Ervin
Barber. Listener. Author. Coach. Founder.
My career may look like a series of reinventions. To me, it is one continuous lesson: people become more powerful when they can name what they know, turn it into a system, and finish something that proves it.
I spent more than two decades behind the barber chair. The work was never only about hair. It was about trust, repetition, service, attention, and conversation. People told me what they hoped to build and what kept getting in the way.
I heard business ideas, family stories, setbacks, ambitions, regrets, hard-earned advice, and more unfinished book ideas than I can count.
Eventually, I recognized the same pattern in myself. I had lessons I wanted to preserve, but knowing something and documenting it are different disciplines. I had to learn how to turn lived experience into pages, frameworks, and finished books.
That process changed my understanding of proof. Knowing is not proof by itself. Talking is not proof. Intention is not proof. What you practice, build, finish, publish, and become is the proof.
That idea became The Proof Philosophy and a growing body of work about discipline, purpose, and self-mastery.
A book is not only for someone who has always called themselves a writer. A book can begin with a profession, a system, a mistake, a recovery, a set of customer questions, a family history, or one hard lesson that took years to understand.
Today, I am Co-Founder of PocketAuthor. We are building the publishing partner I wish I had when I started: a calm, guided system that helps people turn ideas, expertise, research, stories, and lived experience into a clear, credible book while keeping the author’s judgment and voice in control.
My role lives at the human edge of that mission. I help people find the real book, tell the truth clearly, build discipline, make decisions, and finish.
I still believe in the power of a good conversation. The chair has changed. The work has not.
